Due to the risk of Avian Flu there will be no poultry competitions at this year's show.
Avian Influenza Update No. 5 of 2022 published on the 26th April 2022 by the National Disease Control Centre:
The requirement to confine/house poultry and other birds as a precautionary measure against avian influenza will be lifted on the 29th April 2022 (S.I. No. 607 of 2021)
The bio-security regulations introduced in November 2021 to help protect poultry and captive birds from avian influenza will remain in force (S.I. No. 593 of 2021)
A ban on bird gatherings, marts and assemblies for the purposes of show or sale will also remain in place (S.I. No. 592 of 2021)
Farmers are urged to remain vigilant and maintain strict bio-security.
