AR90Q: The All Ireland Home Preserves Championship

Judges: 

Prizes: 1st - €25, 2nd - €15, 3rd - €10; Children's competitions - 1st - €12, 2nd - €8, 3rd - €5

All exhibits to be delivered to the Cork Showgrounds, Curraheen on Friday 14th June between 2.30-4.30pm for judging on Friday night. 

Judging to commence at 5.30pm SHARP

Exhibits cannot be collected before 5pm on Sunday 16th June 2024.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1.  Display three pots of preserves any size one pot from each section below:
  • Soft Fruits
  • Mixed Fruits
  • Marmalade

          Max. space allowed 22cm by 41cm

  1. Lids only to be used.
  2. No Biscuits or scones to be displayed with exhibit
  3. Exhibitor to be creative when presenting their exhibit.
  4. Points will be awarded for taste, appearance, sealing, setting and presentation
  5. The competition is confined to amateurs.
  6. Two exhibits will qualify from each show.
  7. The exhibits must be home produced by the exhibitor.
  8. In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the exhibitor is deemed to be making a living from their profession, they may be disqualified.
  9. A special class will be held at each qualifying show.
  10. All preserves will be sampled.
  11. The judge’s decisions at all stages of the competition is final
  12. Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk.
  13. For the final fresh pots of preserves must be entered.
