Plenty of well-wishes have flooded in for the newly elected Lord Mayor of Cork city - and it seems the news has made it all the way to Washington DC circles, with the former US President Joe Biden even offering his congratulations.

The Cork Summer Show is one of the most anticipated events of the summer season, with tens of thousands of people heading out to the showground in Curraheen over the weekend.

The event was a massive success once again this year, with everything from horse shows and agricultural displays to fantastic food vendors and stalls from local artisan producers. The show is particularly popular among families, with plenty to keep the smallies entertained.
