Arts & Crafts Rules 2023

  1. Entry Fee: €3 euro per item / €2 in children's classes.
  2. Articles for exhibition must be entered in one class only.
  3. Articles entered should be brought to the Showgrounds, Curraheen between 2.30 - 4.30pm on Friday 16 June 2023.
  4. All works to be the Bona Fide work of competitors.
  5. The committee reserves the right to cancel a class or postpone the show.
  6. Exhibits can be collected from the Show ONLY on Sunday 18 June between 5pm and 7pm. No responsibility will be taken for uncollected items.
  7. No item that has been previously exhibited at the Show is eligible for entry. No refund will be given to those in breach of this rule. Photographs of previous years’ exhibits are on file. This will be strictly enforced.
  8. Judging will take place on Friday evening at the Cork Summer Show Showgrounds in Curraheen starting at 5pm.
  9. Entries close Friday 9 June 2023. ALL ENTRIES ONLINE. NO LATE ENTRIES
  10. Online entries will open from 17 April to 9 June 2023. No late entries will be accepted.
  11. Exhibits cannot be removed or dismantled from the Showgrounds before 5pm on Sunday 18 June 2023, and then only with the approval of the Senior Steward.  No prize money will be paid to offenders.

  2. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the exhibitor.

All Horticulture entries must be grown by the exhibitor.
Stems to be displayed in vessels containing water - Containers are not supplied.

  2. Novice - An exhibitor who has not won a first prize at a major show.
  3. A Novice may also enter an Open Class.
  4. Exhibits should be the original, unaided work of the competitor and not have been entered previously on any forum.
  5. Competitors may enter as many classes as they wish but may not stage more than one entry per class.
  6. By entering the competition, you are agreeing to allowing an image of your design be published and named by AOIFA, NAFAS & the Munster Agricultural Society.
  7. The Judges’ decision is final.
  8. All exhibits to be delivered to the Showgrounds, Curraheen on Friday 16 June between 4.00-8.00pm. 
  9. Exhibits cannot be removed from Showgrounds before 5pm on Sunday 18 June 2023.
  10. Online entries only.

Floral Art & Horticulture (Flowers & Plants) Rules 2023

REGULATIONS

  1. Exhibits to be judged in accordance with the NAFAS Competitions Manual Third Edition 2015.
  2. (a) Novice: An exhibitor who has not won a first prize at a major show. A novice may also enter the Intermediate and Open Classes. Those holding an AOIFA qualification are ineligible to enter the Novice Class.(b) Intermediate: An exhibitor who has won first prize in the Novice Class at a major show. An Intermediate may also enter the Open Classes
  3.  Exhibits should be the original, unaided work of the competitor, and must be assembled in the staging area (Exception Class 5) and not have been entered previously on any forum.  Pre-done work: Many techniques, whether contemporary or traditional, require a great deal of time to complete.  Pre–done work of this type is acceptable in any class, unless specifically excluded by the show schedule. 
  4. Competitors may enter as many classes as they wish but may not stage more than one entry per class.
  5. All exhibits and competitors’ property will be at the risk of the competitor and neither AOIFA or Cork Summer Show can accept any liability whatsoever for any loss or damage sustained by any competitor.
  6. By entering the competition, you are agreeing to allowing an image of your design be published and named by AOIFA & The Munster Agricultural Society, in any form.
  7. The Judges’ decision is final.
  8. An empty space spoils the Show, so please do not enter more Classes than can be attempted.  Exhibitors unable to attend should inform the Competition Secretary as soon as possible.

STAGING

  1. The Competitions Committee will decide the positions of all exhibits.
  2. Only officials, competitors and other authorised persons will be allowed in the marquee during staging times.
  3. All measurements in the staging instructions are approximate.  All exhibits must be staged at the venue with the exception of the Petite Class which must be pre-done.  All exhibits must be staged within the space provided.
  4. Aerosol cans of any description must not be used in the competition venue.
  5. Competitors will be responsible for the maintenance of their exhibits for the duration of the Show.
  6. Competitors must ensure that all rubbish is removed from the staging area.
  7. Exhibits cannot be removed from Showgrounds before 5pm on Sunday 18 June 2023.

Staging - Friday 16 June 2023 - 4pm to 8pm
Judging - Saturday 17 June 2023 - 8am to 10am
Viewing - Saturday 17 June 2023 from 11am
Dismantling - Sunday 18 June 2023 - 5pm - 6pm

 

Equestrian Rules 2023

  1. Any pony not accompanied by a current IPS showing card or SJI Passport is liable to be measured.
  2. No person under 16 years on 1 January of the current year may lead a pony, with the exception of the Young Handler classes.
  3. Ponies 1 year and over must wear a bit. No hind shoes allowed in the Youngstock classes.
  4. The Committee reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate any class if insufficient entries are received.
  5. This show is a member of IPS and IPS Rules apply. Points gained in all IPS classes go towards qualification for the IPS Championship Final at the IPS Championship Show.

 

Poultry Rules 2023

Held under PCGB Rules

  1. All birds must be penned on Sunday 18 June by 10am.  Judging will commence at 10.30am sharp.
  2. While judging is in progress, access to the judging area is restricted to the judges and stewards.
  3. It is a condition of entry that no bird be removed before 5pm on Sunday 18 June and all birds must be removed before 7pm on that date.
  4. It is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor to enter all exhibits in the correct class.
  5. If there are insufficient entries in any class, classes will be amalgamated.
  6. Bantam eggs not to exceed 1.5oz or 42.5g.
  7. No responsibility will be taken by the Munster Agricultural Society (Cork Summer Show) for lost exhibits.
  8. Birds showing signs of illness will be removed by the Head Steward from the tent, there will be no refund of entry fees.
  9. All payments must be made by EFT through the online booking portal www.corksummershow.com
  10. Each Poultry Exhibitor who exhibits 1-3 birds will receive one pass to the Show. An exhibitor who shows more than 4 birds will receive 2 passes to the show.  All other persons accompanying the Exhibitor must pay the appropriate admission fee at the public entrance gate.

Prize Money: €10 Championship Row Winners, Show Champion €50   Reserve €25

 

Pet Dog Show Rules 2023

  1. Entries for Saturday and Sunday are taken on the day from 12.30pm to 1.45pm.
  2. Showing starts at 2pm.
  3. All entries cost €3 per class.
  4. All dogs must be properly behaved and kept on a lead at all times. The wellbeing of the dog is the responsibility of the dog handler/owner.
  5. Depending on the number of entries and the breed of dogs participating, classes may be merged.
  6. It is each dog handler’s responsibility to clean up after their own dog.
  7. Special awards will be given to children participating in the Child Handling Class.
  8. No altered dogs of any breed will be judged.  This includes dogs with docked tails or cropped ears.
  9. No exceptions; Judge’s decision is final.
  10. All proceeds to be donated to HUGG, a national suicide bereavement charity.
