Secondary School Agricultural Science Competition 

Are you a secondary school student with a passion for science and innovation?  Do you have creative ideas that could help shape the future of agriculture?  If so — we want to hear from you!


🧠 Competition Details

  • Theme: Innovative Solutions linked to Agriculture
  • Objective: Inspire Secondary schold students to explore scientific research and create innovative solutions that enhance agricultural practices.
  • Eligibility: Open to all Secondary School student.
  • Submission Details: Opens: 10th November 2025 | Closes:  **Extended until 27th April 2026**

📝 How to Enter, Entry Fee & Submission

Step 1: Submit Your Entry
Complete the competition application form at www.corksummershow.com/enter-classes on or before 27th April 2026.

When completing the form:

  • Register under the team lead’s name (all other student names and their school year should be included when submitting the video).

  • Provide the school’s bank details for any payments or refunds.

Entry Fee:

  • €20 per individual or team entry.  Teams may include up to 4 students from the same school

Step 2: Submit Your Project Video
Email or WhatsApp a 2-minute video (MP4 format, up to 2GB) explaining your project to: info@corksummershow.com  or  083 8029364

Submission Deadline:
All entries and videos must be received by midday on 27th April 2026.


🌟 Competition Process & Terms 🏆

Initial Judging: All entries will be carefully reviewed, and the top five finalists will be notified by 11th May 2026.

Final Presentations: Finalists will present their projects at the Cork Summer Show 2026. Each finalist will have a 10-minute slot to present and answer questions from the judging panel.

Display Materials: Bring your project to life! Finalists may present their research through a poster (maximum A0 size) and/or a creative display. A table and poster board will be provided.

Eligibility: Open to all Secondary School Students (2025/2026).  Projects must be original; AI-generated content is not allowed.  Each project must include a research component that demonstrates you’re thinking and investigation.

Judging Criteria: Projects will be assessed on creativity, feasibility, research quality, and potential impact.

Winner Announcement: Winners will be revealed during the Cork Summer Show weekend 2026, with prizes awarded to the winning school and team/individual, as well as various prizes for other outstanding finalists.


🔬 Research Suggestions: Choose an agricultural challenge or problem to research, such as sustainable farming practices, new agricultural technologies, food and nutrition, or innovative solutions to common farming challenges. Your short video should include all student names, school name, and lead teacher name, along with an introduction describing the challenge, a summary of the research carried out, a detailed explanation of your proposed solution and how it could work in real life, and the expected benefits or impact on agriculture.


🏆 Prizes

  • Finalists: Each finalist, along with one adult, will receive complementary tickets to enjoy the Cork Summer Show experience and deliver their presentation.
  • Winning School: €750 plus Winning Team Prize: €250.
