Rules for Oughterard All Ireland 2024
1. Qualifying rounds will be held at designated shows.
2. Ponies 4 years old and over are eligible.
3. More than one pony in each qualifying class may be selected to compete in the final provided the judges agree that the standard is high enough and may qualify a second pony.
Judge of the day must sign the qualifying entry form (s)
Pony and / or Rider once qualified are not eligible to participate in subsequent qualifiers in the same category. This rule may be waived by the Show Committee in exceptional circumstances e.g. sale of a pony or injury of rider prior to final. Permission from the Oughterard Show Committee must be granted prior to any previously qualified pony or rider competing in subsequent qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will result in the entry not being accepted.

CONNEMARA CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS 48 & 53 - 1st €500, 2nd €250, 3rd €100, 4th €50, 5th €50, 6th €50 (Based on minimum entry of 20 ponies pro rata if less i.e. 10 ponies prize money is halved)
SHOW HUNTER PONY CHAMPION - CHAMPION €75 / RESERVE € 50
SHOW PONY CHAMPION - CHAMPION Rosette Prize / RESERVE Rosette Prize
WORKING HUNTER PONY CHAMPION - CHAMPION €100 / RESERVE €50
LOCAL & FAMILY PONY CHAMPION - CHAMPION €50 / RESERVE €25
PONY FOAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPION €75 / RESERVE €40
RESCUE PONY CHAMPIONSHIP - CHAMPION €100 / RESERVE CHAMPION €50 (Prize money is donated to the Rescue Centre the winning ponies were originally rescued from)
I.S.A. LEVY - 5% DEDUCTED FROM PRIZE MONEY
Please note:
A. Any pony not accompanied by a current IPS showing card may not be eligible for IPS points..
B. No person under 16 years on 1 January of the current year may lead a pony, with the exception of Young Handler classes.
C. Ponies one year old and over must wear a bit. No hind shoes allowed in Young Stock classes.
D. The committee reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate any class if insufficient entries are received.
